The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) in collaboration with the the Regional Economic Communities (REC’s) in Central and Eastern Africa, the East, Central and Southern African Health Community (ECSA-HC), the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and Development Partners, participated in the East and Central Africa CAADP Nutrition Capacity Development Workshop from 25 February to 1 March, 2013 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Under the theme ‘Building capacity to mainstream Nutrition in National Agriculture and Food Security Investment Plans in Africa’ the workshop provided an opportunity to take stock of what the countries in East and Central Africa region are doing separately in their search for achieving significant reductions in malnutrition through a more prominent role for nutrition planning.

The workshop is the second of its kind after the first hosted in Dakar, Senegal for the West Africa region in November 2011.

The AIFSC sponsored 8 Rwandese delegates to attend this important workshop.
