The AIFSC has a global focus, but our initial emphasis will be on improving food security in countries of southern and eastern Sub-Saharan Africa. Sub-Saharan Africa has the highest proportion of the world’s undernourished population. The latest data from The State of Food Insecurity in the World 2013 has highlighted that Sub-Saharan Africa remains the region with the the highest prevelance of undernourishment, with modest progress in recent years.
We have identified 10 target countries through consultations in 2012:
- Burundi
- Ethiopia
- Kenya
