Employment opportunity in new AIFSC/IDRC partnership: Senior Program Officer

In partnership with the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the AIFSC is about to launch a joint $15 million competitive research fund. The main objective of this collaboration is to improve food security in the countries of east and southern Africa. The fund aims to support research in areas vital to achieving long-term food security with a focus on post-harvest loss, nutrition and/or water use. An expected outcome is an increase in high-quality scientific research on the adoption of existing and new research results to tackle persistent problems of food insecurity.

The new partnership is seeking a Senior Program Officer to be based in Nairobi. The Senior Program Officer will develop projects within the priority areas by reviewing, developing, monitoring, managing and evaluating research projects; and liaising and maintaining productive working relationships with grantees, researchers and government institutions. They will also have leading role in managing a competitive call process, preparing documentation and synthesising and reporting on program results.
