Partnering with the private sector to bring tractor power back into African agriculture

AIFSRC project ‘Farm mechanisation and conservation agriculture for sustainable intensification’ (FACASI) is identifying and testing two-wheel tractors (2WTs) that are most suitable for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Whilst smallholder farmers will be the main beneficiaries of this work and in particular women farmers, the project is working with several private sector partners. These include small commercial enterprises, importers, dealers, manufacturers and mechanics, all of which play crucial roles in promoting, providing and servicing 2WTs.
